Well I guess I could start out that I'm grateful that we found a trampoline tarp for $30 and were ecstatic. Less than what we could get our old one sewn for. The kids were so excited. WE were so excited because it was something to keep the kids entertained outside so Kelly can work in peace inside! Koby measured ours and it was going to fit. I went and picked it up. Kelly told the kids to put it together. They came in after an awfully long time to tell us that it didn't fit. Kelly was going to look at it and never got around to it so the kids abandoned that project.
I was beginning supper, Kelly was working at his computer, and kids were scattered everywhere when the power began blinking on and off and on and off. That was scary by itself. We've had it go out but never on and off like that.
I think a kid came running in the house and said something about a power line. I hurried to the front door and the powerline was buzzing, sparking and bouncing. It was on fire too. I have to admit I did yell TO Kelly not AT him that we had a live wire outside. The set of 3 wires that bring power from the fuse box and meter box had rubbed on a tree branch and shorted out. It is just a weird feeling to see power lines laying on the ground. Kade shut off the fuse box but it didn't help! It was broken inside and only tripped one leg of the power.
After what seemed like forever (I really don't know how long it was cause I didn't look at the time) the United Electric guys came and fixed it. While we were waiting for them the wind started blowing the live line (it was hanging in the air) towards the tramp frame a couple feet away. Kade and Koby moved the frame across the yard. I realized then that we were LUCKY that the tarp didn't fit. If it had, I KNOW there would have been kids playing on and around the tramp right where that wire came down. So scary to think about that.
So I'm grateful for:
1. the chance to buy a tramp tarp for as little as she was asking for.
2. the fact that it didn't fit!
3. the fact that no one was hurt!
Things could have been worse. No one was hurt and we got a great memory out of it.
BUT NO TRAMPOLINE!!!!!
AHHHH! I can't believe that-it is so scary. I would have jumped in the car and driven away! I am so grateful you are all OK. It will be fun to see those Angels holding the wires back, some day when we review this in Heaven
