Intro to Entrepreneurship Week 7

Some of this week's readings had to do with the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. The First one is Be Proactive. I think that I'm a more reactive person. I'm not really one to make things happen. I could use some change there.

Second is Begin with the End in Mind. I think this is where teachings of the church come into play in many, many people's lives. We know that our end goal is the Celestial Kingdom so we can do things proactively to get ourselves and our families there. In business we have to know where we want to go in order to make decisions to get there. If we want to make a million dollars by the end of the year, it isn't usually just going to happen. We have to make goals and decisions to be successful at it. The concept of private victory is important and this second step helps us have private victories so we can trust ourselves so we have the confidence to go out and have public victories when we perform in the workplace. Jim Ritchie explained all this is the video this week. This habit seems most important to me because if you aren't headed in the right direction you're wasting your time and your life.

The other habits are Put First Things, Think Win-Win, Seek First to Understand-Then to be Understood, Synergize, and Sharpen the Saw. They are all important but I think knowing your direction is most important to me.
